The guy who did MOST of the work is Paul from Miracle Detail (www.miracledetail.co.uk), as seen on Fifth Gear..... 7K for the top line wax, but it is replenished for life....(so makes good business sense)
Also, it shows just how poor a new car's paintwork finish is (and how crap the PDI process is).

I cant understand how anyone can give people who treat their cars like that a hard time. Whats wrong with people really. The guy wants to get his car 100% and keep it that way. How can that be a bad thing?
I admit, i spend more time cleaning and polishing my car than i do driving it, and i get such a ripping for it, but whats so bad about wanting to keep it mint?

Anyone else spot a white EsCoss in the background in one of the shots?
Anyway, the finish is superb, allthough, it's a bit of a gimpy way to be with a brand new car he's waited 6 months for

fucking hell,,,, sorry but what a total loser
who ever said that car will be worth alot more than others in the future is talking pap
its a fucking astra !!!!
that guy has too much money and time,,,,,, well maybe not that much money or he would have bought a REAL car
if he wanted to do a REAL job then he should have bare shelled it and done the underneath or the carpet and behind the dash
wonder if hes got a missus,,, and if he has how long till he finds out shes giving it away to other peeps cause hes spending too much time buffing his car and not her arse,,,,,, but then tbh theres 9 to 4 odds on him being a virgin
mans got problems,,,,, just like that other bloke who measured paint on a astra and recomended what to do to clean his car

People need to bear in mind that the owner obviously knows the miracle detail bloke so it would have come for free or at least mates rates. So i assume the people calling him a saddo would turn it down if he offered to do your cars for free?
That would be me. I disagree mate, of course it will be worth more than others in a few years to come as its obviously a better car and definatly will be in a few years time. Its almost certain that the owner will keep it that way.
A mint, well looked after car will always be worth more than the average example, and that goes for any car really.

yeah but its a mass produced cheepo car,,,,, think how much a astra gte is worth,,, now polish it for 4 weeks with rino spit and gheckos cum wax and you think that would fetch the same as your escos of the same age is worth ???
think you have started drinking the turtle wax or inhaled too much back to black fumes

Dear Lord! Sure it comes out looking "super dooper" but fuck me thats bordering on OCD! On a side note. Ive never seen that Miracle Detail guy take a 10year old snotter and make it look like this. He seems to only do VERY new or low mileage cars. Which HAVE to be easier by comparison. And Ive never seen him do some 1920s Rolls Royce or something actually worth spending time on.
I have to say I like a couple of the pics though.
Nice mirror effect, daresay the original car would get that though

Im not saying its going to hold its value though at all as even though its a 20 grand VXR, its still a vaux and will depreciate similar to all the others. What im saying is it that when its 10 or 15 years old it will more than likely be worth top money compared to other vxrs, provided the owner continues to look after which im sure he will. Using your example with gte's, they can go for between Ł300-Ł3000+ depending on condition.

EDIT
The other thing I wonder is how many times he can machine polish a car before the paint becomes too thin. Surely hes doing some damage every time. So maybe in 20 years time and repeated buffing the car will look tired regardless.

rich there is a max amount of time for you to remove the paint and it burns off so to speak
BUT YOU WOULD HAVE SOLD THE CAR DUE TP THE BANKRUPCY CLAIM BEFORE THAT EVER HAPPENED
actually once you remove the tired paint then you dont need to buff off the paint on each clean,,, it will be protected and so will just need washing and polishing rather than a cutting of the paint to remove the swirls

i don't get why it's sad??
what's more sad?
a) A bloke taking a couple of days to detail a car and make it look stunning
b) a bloke spending a few days (read months) repairing an old ford so it's 'nearly' as good as it should be?
open your minds a little peeps
spending all day on an internet forum leaves you with no right to call anyone sad!

I think some of the comments would have been rather different had it been a shonky taxi rather than an astra.
