IMO most bouncers are egotistical idiots on a power trip, they seem to think they are above the ‘low life punters’ this is the impression I get of them.

My other half was ‘ejected from a local club Friday for being ‘intoxicated’ and ‘incoherent’, he’d only been for a wee! Doesn’t do drugs and was certainly not rolling around drunk (I know this as I was sober).

I thought all bouncers had have some kind of ‘badge’ or certification, not that I would’ve thought they are worth the paper written on.
I agree you must have to use force, but reasonable force – I thought they were taught ways to eject people without actually harming them?
To be fair perhaps they didn’t see who started the fight, although unfortunately as it was someone starting on JB’s mate etc etc then it did become to do with ‘the group’.

There is no way either male or female should be given a ‘kicking’ I find it disgusting what happened to Faye and Kirstie – surely all they had to do was restrain them reasonably and eject them via the front door – alley ways and giving the trouble starters a kicking is not acceptable.

From a point of view from a doorman....

What you are legally able to do and what you (in some instances) have to do are entirely different. Whilst I can not comment on this instance, most instances only require gentle persuasion for people to be ejected. If a fight breaks out at the club I work at, the whole lot involved go, regardless of who actually started it (unless we physically see the build up and who started it). If anyone gets gobby, aggresive then it normally goes to the next level with formal restraints... if it goes to the next level, well I suspect you know what may happen at that point.

All doorman *should* be SIA registered.

On a side note you wouldnt believe the kind of shit doorman have to put up with. Whilst that is not a reason it itself to be aggresive, once you have been glassed, jumped on by a number of people and shot you may have a different opinion.

one of my best mates is a doorman, and one of the guys i work with is also a doorman and they have both worked at titty bars amongst other places, even i hae stood by the door just to keep him company on a few occasions so i know the shit they go through
obviously i'm not a doorman so i wouldn't know what to do in any given sistuation but i can appareciate that there are good and bad ones mixed in amongst them
but when it all comes down to it you need to be able to handle yourself not only to give out a few lumps but also to take some as well on the otherside
i think he point that is being made here is that "proper" security would have handled the situation a lot differently to the way these morons handled it and that is why they are being spoken about

but yes, i will admit to being niaive baout it, the only trouble i've been involved with was one xmas eve when someone threw some wet socks at my mate

Amazing, when we wanted to fight me and my pals used to travel away with the service crew from Leeds then when they went soft and some of them grew up me and the remaining two used to go to Millwall.

You just got banged up by a bouncer in a nightclub! That's never happened to a single female friend of mine in my entire life! This isn't the first time there's been a well publicised drinking/nightclub/fighting incident is it?

However, as I said before, it sounds like what has happened was an awful experience, and I'm genuinely glad that you are going to try and persue it. Everybody knows someone who's been on the wrong end of shocking treatment by over-eager bouncers, so with all sincerity, I wish you the best of luck.

All I was suggesting was that maybe next time you try to avoid these situations with your group, instead of "my mate was getting done over so I had to wade in and try and help".

However, clearly I'm a cunt for suggesting it's not the norm for girls to get pissed up and fight or get ejected from a club

Oh I agree, I am sure not all bouncers are as the sterotype, and certainly they probably put up with what they shouldn't have to and I am sure at some times it's not easy to try to restrain someone 'properly' - just in this instance and some many like it its pretty disgusting behaviour.

What happened to the bloke that started it and the one that he started on? Seems it was mostly girls and John that got hurt in the end.
