Default AO - F**king L!!

You know these shitty AOL trial discs for Internet?? The ones that once you install them, they are a complete bastard to get rid of??

Well, how can I remove it without a trace? Obviously I will uninstall it, but is any other action necessary??

Maybe a daft question, but if you knew they were shit, why install it in the first place

I'd run the removal tool and then run something like AdAware to see what it finds.

Then run something like CCleaner to purge all the orphaned AOL entries from the registry.

Cheers

Matt

It is the "stickiest" piece of software you can get.

Its an absolute pain in the arse to remove even if you know what you are doing.

I have helped 3 people out in the past and each time the harddisk was wiped
and windows re-installed as this was easier.

There maybe a fix for it out there but I havent heard of it.

Unistall it, delete the directory from Cprograms, search for any files via start menu and maybe with the help of google if you're unsure and then use PGP or another safe erase disk method to get clear the 'fre' space after.

Then run all the reg editors, scanners and malware cleaners.

I didn't install it. It's not my PC, but someone in my family. I was supposed to be sorting an Internet connection out for it, but someone else had a go before I got to it!!

I haven't even looking or tried to uninstall it yet, I just saw the AOL disc and the shortcut on the desktop and walked away head-in-hands knowing I was in for trouble.
