anyone got piccies of the two different types? how do they differ?

2wd(and early 4x4) runs the twin aux belts

4wd run the single wide v-belt

As above later 4x4 run MULTI RIBBED BELT, later ones also seem to be the ones with 3 extractor holes in them, my f reg doesn't have these holes for a puller.
I beleive also that some, later ones have an inner and outer part as they are a damper as well.

Yes, same pulley... the changed to multi v belt in mid late 91 afaik.

whats the best way to tighten one up after fitting?put car in gear?

Remove starter and lock starter ring.
