Default help needed with dump valve

ive got a bailey dump valve on my s2 erst,the other day
i drove it to my mates to do a bit of work on it and the
dump valve worked fine,took my car to my mates again
tonight and the dump valve didnt work,anybody got any ideas

did check to see if it had gone but luckily it was still there
the car still pulled as well as it did the other day when the
turbo came in,checked the pipes quickly as it was dark but
all looked fine

hmm, maybe its jammed, weird one, best takin it off n havin a look to see if u can move it with a screw driver or summik, best takin it off all together tbh. their jus problematic.

car was running a bit crap when i drove it round to my mates
house,it almost cut out a few times when i stopped at
road junctions,would this hav anything to do with the dump
valve do you reckon

possibly if its jammed open it'll be measuring un metered air causing it to stall.

no its still shut,how easy will it be to move the piston
to make sure it aint jammed,what difference will it make
if i take it off if any atall

the pipe from it to the inlet manifold is still on and the
boost gauge is still working and couldnt see any other
pipes off

if u take it off u can check if all's moving freely.....is the piston open or closed on idle?

just rev it with the bonnet up and see if it opens and closes, then you'll know if its stuck!

brought the car back from my mates house today,when i got
there i lifted the bonnet while the car was idling and the dump
valve was closed,then i had to turn the car off and about 5 minutes
later i started it up again and the dump valve was open and
when i drove the car home i took a little detour and it is working
again now
