CSLs and well sorted M3's with a good driver will do that no problem.
We think we could of got the focus well under 9 with a clear lap and someone calling the bends. It really is a great car for the track.
Our best was:
Ford Focus RS : 09:36
Driver: FordsportJay
Navigator: Jim Galbally
Telling to go faster: topaz
Ring Experience: at the time, 4 laps
Problems: 1 yellow waved flag

I was in this car timing that particular lap as well. However, it was no ordinary M3, it had Ł3ks worth of APs (front and rear) Ł2.5k worth of Intrax suspension and Ł2k worth of CSL wheels and tyres....
Also the time is BTG (bridge to gantry), so to work out the equivalent of a FULL lap, you have to add 25s to the BTG time.
My Escort's BTG is 8.07 (when it had 430ish bhp).

Cant help noticing that the M5 E39 (presuming that the slower of the two M5s is the older one ie mine) managed a respectable 8:28 - faster than the M3 SMG!
Hurrah!

I did something i swore i would never do and bought myself a Timer on Monday.
I managed various times comfortably and repeatably under 9:30, the best of which being:
I am well pleased with that considering the car is a totally and utterly standard BMW 323 with 102000 miles under her belt. Not a new suspension component in sight. Great car though, did 37 laps faultlessly, all with the aircon on.

Stu- Whats your opinion of the 323 coupe in general?
Im thinking of getting one as a daily hack, (Should be quite fun to drive, and capable of the odd ring trip just to save taking the RS)
9:30 is very respectable by the way

8.27 in my Evo - KU15 Kumhos which were really good once warm. Thats with a yellow flag and lots of overtaking.
A friend did 8.08 in his Evo 8, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup Tyres and Bilstein suspension.

8:14.4 in my m3 on standard road tyres.
On these tyres you could probably get around 8:10 on that particular lap if there had been no traffic.
With decent cups or 888's it should do sub 8 BTG with me at the helm.
I eventually managed 8:30 four up with traffic lol.
Awesome fun.
We also managed 9:02 in the hire car that we received after the M3 wheel bearing started to rumble.
It would have done sub 9 with a little less traffic.
Cheers

8:40 ?
i recon even i could do an 8:40 after another 30 or so laps, so he must be shit if he can't do it in a proper trick E46

Im confused now. Are we talking about Steven RW? (Jacko)
If so, his car is an E46 M3 (With a couple of trick bits as said).
And i 100% believe he did an 8:14 BTG
