Default suitable gauge surround material?

I need to put a gauge in the Air vent next to the steering wheel

As seen there ^^^

Anybody have an idea of what material I could use to mount the gauge, and any suppliers?

Thanks

Dan - i've got some offcuts of Carbon at work - 1mm thick carbon with 6mm core and then 1mm carbon fibre again.

Would be ideal for mounting a gauge through.

Make me a cardboard template and give it to me next Cheshire RSOC meet and i'll knock it up for you in return for a pint
