diffrence between a normal sierra 2.lt pinoto 205 and a cosworth 205 block whar are the diffrences

no actual differences between them really, apart from the number stamped into the block where the dizzy is - cosworth blocks have 2222 or thereabouts stamped in - this is to do with the bore thickness and strength - only the best 205 blocks were chosen

about 7500rpm with ARP bolts - but don't quote me on that

only with the arp bolts ? so a safe bet with none is 6800 ? 7k at a push i have been havin a debate with a guy building a stock car motor but thinks he knows it all

you obviously need a bit of head work to make it rev past 7k aswell, but again, i'm not sure what it involves - Mike Rainbird does know tho

STD bottom end good for 7500 with std rod bolts.
They will all rev higher than this with appropriate cams/ecu, but do then need rod bolts etc .
As said ony selected cores used for the cossies, though 202 blocks are thicker!!

202 blocks may be thicker but they were used for the block on Transit diesel's

I used a normal Sierra 205 block for 8 years before it cracked.

It did have the cossie crank, rod and pistons in it but otherwise was a standard 205 block.

Was running at least 280bhp all that time and died after running about 340bhp for 2 years.
