Have you got a closer view of the inside Mike - I obviously don't need one but I'm geeky and want to see the different layer build up of the CF. I take it Marcus is doing these?

Cool product

Did Ford give their permission for the logo to be on it or are you just hoping they dont sue?

Obviously I cant talk for Ford, but if he did that for a toyota logo, he would get his wish come true I can guarentee it.

Every car manufacturer ive been involved with is VERY protective of people fraudulently claiming that an aftermarket product is in fact a genuine article, the logo does this.

Im personally going to be quite surprised if Mike doesnt end up in court at some point over that one, unless he has somehow managed to secure permission from ford first!

bit of filler in the mould will soon get rid of ford logo, might become a collectible ltd edition, with the RARE ford logo

Unfortunately the mould taken off the lid that I gave Marcus to copy, picked out the logo of the original Grp A airbox. I hadn't even about the implications of what Chip had said . I will obviously instruct Marcus to make sure this does not come out in future production runs (this was the first prototype ).

Mike if you need any other basic business advice just ask mate, my fees are very reasonable

On a slightly less simple to solve note, you could of course be accused of copying the design as well, like some people say about the somerset plenums vs swedish ones.

A sierra airbox base doesn't fit a Esc Cos without mods as per the genuine works box to clear the turbo to intercooler pipe.

It's copying a part that isn't made anymore by anyone - a LOT different .

If you are planning on using that defence in court mike, I would get ready for a few of those you like so much

Its EXACTLY the same legally.

I'm talking morally, as only the Ford logo is copy-righted, the lid is not . And as has been said by others, I hardly think Ford will pursue myself or Marcus over a few lids when other companies are doing the same thing for the other parts mentioned.

I dont see how copying a lid is any different to copying a plenum from a moral point of view either Mike.

I agree ford are unlikely to pursue you though providing you dont use their logo.

I always thought you were stupid . One is not made any more and hasn't been for several years and one is still in production. But apart from that, absolutely NO difference .

How does that make a difference to wether its ok to make money off something you havent designed yourself in both cases?
Thats what the moral issue is surely, cashing in on someone elses design by just copying it?

What happens if its a patented part?? You'd be in breach definately then. Just change a couple of dimensions by a fraction and you'll be ok
