Default Post Office

2 weeks ago I had a small parcel sent to Berlin, the online quote was over £10 but when my mum went to post it we were only charged £2?

Now I don't really get on very well with the woman at our village post office I feel she has screwed me over somehow.

I have sent several items next day with them before from that post office and they have taken a few days to arrive, now I'm either unlucky as everyone I know never has this problem.

All I do know is that my mum did screw up as I guess it was un insured if it only cost £2, I do have a reciept but I have no idea if that is any help.

Can anyone advise what to do as I'm just about to lose out on £120 of parts.

Thanks in advance

the receipt will help then, but i doubt you would get much back if you could even be bothered with the hassle of claiming from royal mail.

what does it say on the receipt, i assume just standard parcels or 2nd class or something.

i think with standard post you may have insurance for up to £32 iirc

Thats what someone else said to me, bugger.

Oh well, looks like I'll be paying him back then. Wouldn't suprise me if it is still sitting on a shelf in that post office tbh

Insurance is £34 unless you pay extra for extended compensation. If you have the receipt then it's not realy your problem mate you've sent the parcel and have the proof.

AJ- No not yet mate, just got a bit of a shirty email off him this morning as it has been 2 weeks now. I cant get to the post office till tomorrow now.

As it is through ebay I dont want to get negative feedback from it.

I feel bad enough as it is about it, I dont really want to say its not my problem to him

If your worried about negative feedback send him an email back explaining what's happened & also that if the item doesnt turn up within say a week you'll give him a re-fund.

The thing is when you send stuff and it's not recorded how do you know he never got the parts?? he may just be saying they never turned up. Its down to you realy mate all im saying is that you dont realy have to refund as you have proof you sent the parts.

AJ- Already said exactly that to him.

I know he could be talking shit but I'm guessing he isn't.

Thanks for the advice, I'll pop to the post office tomorrow and see what they have to say about it

If it was sent overseas with Parcel Farce allow at least 3 weeks before even thinking it will be delivered. They are useless

You have proof of postage so it isnt really your fault... One negative feedback isnt that bad, you can also reply to it saying that you have proof that you sent the items

Your old lady must have sent it by land mail so it says allow 2 weeks from the date of posting for it to arrive so it may still turn up

Thanks for that mate, that does look likely.

What amazes me is that it can only take few days maximum to get the post to germany, so where the hell is it for 2 weeks

I'm sure they send it via Oz

I've had that too, I bought a exhaust so I could get on track one weekend, it never showed up and I traced it to Manchester although it had been sent from Coventry

They said I could collect it from Northampton at 2 am and as I really needed it I headed off there like a nutter at 2 am, whilst on the nitrous on the way there though I melted 2 pistons

Strangely enough I never made it to the trackday lol

Yep ! Only ever used them once and that was enough for me

Petrucci's brake kit took about 4.5 weeks to arrive. I honestly could have walked it there quicker and it cost best part of £85 to send.

Its the hassle worry and stress that it all causes when they go missing thats what they should be compensating us all for lol. Its about time they employed some Polish imigrants in their sorting offices, they will soon sort the company out Good Luck with it

Cheers mate, I do actually feel slightly better about it now.

It better not take 4.5 weeks to show up though
