as some of u no, im running a 1800zetec in my mk1 xr2!!

ive got rid of the 40's i was using as they werent very good, now i have the choice of 45's or bandit 1200 bike carbs

nev @ F1 motosport will be doing the conversion to bike carbs if i go that route as his a good mate of mine and did the original zetec conversion!!!

his jus put bike carbs on his 2.0renault engine thats now in his 340 volvo and they look the absolute bollox!! he will be making the manifold etc himself!!!

im undecided what to do, what u guys reckon??

45s will just be a bigger (read slower airspeed, crap part throttle) version of your not very good 40s.

Go for the CV bike carbs. Bandit 12 carbs are quite good as they already have a TPS for what ever management you will be using to control the ignition.

I would recommend a megajolt unit to control you ignition. Can be had for about Ł100. A real bargain.

I have built/tuned a couple of bike carb conversions now and they drive so much nicer than 45s.

If you buy a megajolt there is a whole load of ignition maps on the net that you can download and try.

Two secs looking found some here for a zetec engine.

http://www.cate1.co.uk/megajolt/mapping.php

You would have to je the carbs using a wideband. I could do this no probs but you are a fair way away.
