Default Escort Cosworth: Difference in small and large turbo model..

How much power did a small turbo have and how much does a large one have standard? I've read there the same but don't see how if one has a bigger turbo?

Please explain, Benni.

surely even a google search wouldve found you this.

and turbo size alone cant decide bhp.

RS500s came with similar power too and that had an even bigger turbo again...

Because the LT was built with rallying and homologation in mind, so over spec'd and the turbo was hardly stressed at std power (but with very good tuning potential), they didn't need homologation for the ST, so gave it a more repsonsive turbo.

Both 227BHP from the factory.

Some other differences:

Door mirrors
Fuel filler cap
More safety features (air bags & door bars)
different ECU, turbo, injectors, inlet differences, MAF sensor, different ignition, cam cover, rear badging, intercooler not water cooled

Would do anything to own a small turbo Escort Cosworth. But like like my girlfriends mum tells me, A Kia Rio does everything an escort cosworth does only safer. Thank's for that people.

Don't think a Kia Rio has ever won the Monte Carlo rally

According to her it's a 10 Year + Old escort with a Body kit on. She is slowly showing me the way forward and I have now realized the missing piece of my life is a Kia Rio 1.3. Like you say to some people a car is a car and nothing more.

When I tried to explain to her the difference in my focus and a focus RS she said, So all they have done is made it wider and faster?, So you pay all that extra and all you get is more Difficulty parking and bigger fuel bills.

Did the escort cosworth ever manage to fearcly remove the CD player from the dashboard because of too much power creating an aggressive rattle? I didn't think so.... 1-1.

Plus the Kia Rio don't need a powerful engine and clever 4wd system to have you thinking 'Are we going to make this bend at such an intense 12mph'. 2-1 to the Kia Rio mate.

I prefer the ST hence why i own one. I found the BT to be a bit gutless low down and once the revs do build up it was like an on/off switch. The different models suit different people though. Depends what you want. The ST has many more advantanges over the BT though in my opinion.
