Default xr2i cam in escort 1.6cvh?

ive been told if i fit a xr2i cam in my escort 1.6cvh it works the same as piper 285 cam....

is this true?

Nope it's bollocks. Stop listening to people talking shite in the pub

The cam will work in the engine but it won't operate as well as the stock cam

it wasnt from someone in the pub....it was from aldon automotive tuning.....

tunes cars for a living....and has done it in his 1.4cvh...

but i was just wondering if anyone has done it on here

I heard a rumour that an EFI cam is slightly higher lift than an MFI one, as to if its as good as as a 286 i wouldnt like to say, having had a 286 in a cvh, i wouldnt have thought so!

I would have thought the Piper camshaft would be made from harder metal than the standard Ford camshaft. Ford CVH camshafts show signs of wear from pretty much 0 miles - CVH heads use really hard springs compared to alot of engines and the rockers are harder than the lobes
