mot windscreen question

anyone know the rules regarding a big chip in the windscreen if its in the centre of the screen sort of near where the rear view mirror hangs if you know what i mean. is it a fail?

i think it is

kick the window out,,, remove the wipers,, and they cant fail you

If it's not in the area swept by the wipers it doesn't matter.
