Default g131vpd - Cossie - Anyone know it?

Just been offered another cheap cossie although it has blown up!

G131VPD - Does anyone know anything about it? Looks pretty good spec under bonnet (apart from no compression @ no.1 !!!)
Grey - 4x4

Any info appreciated.

Cam rattle noise but you knew better? What do you know mate?

The cars on blues with a t34, isnt that a little over specced for stage.1?

I saw a rolling road graph for it 264hp, but next to it was stated "car running very lean" (and it now has no compression on no.1) so im hoping it has just burnt out a valve....hopefully no piston holes!

Prob guna buy it next wk

yeah its on blues std injectors for 4x4 nothing speacial at all

i fitted the turbo too that car when i brother owned it only because he got it cheap

yes i was offered it back a few months ago but he said it had a rattle at about 3000 rpm and from past exeperiance its always been the big ends rattleing on the crank

and it now seems strange its got bad compression on mumber 1

Did you actually hear it to know it was a big end rattle? Im only asking because now it doesnt run and all the info ive got is that no compression on one. Im thinking burnt or bent valve.

Thanks for the info, i thought 4x4s came with light greens.

trust me they came with dark blue injectors they are std

the car was totaly std before my brother got it

no i did not hear it but i have over ten years experiance on working on these cars

when i fitted the new headgasket on it the valves all looked brand new
and was informed they had been changed due too cambelt failure

looks like you have made your mind up go and buy it but make sure you have enough money too fix it

Is this Indy's car at the moment?

If it's just a valve thats burnt out then he might repair it!

Dan - Yes this is indys car, weve agreed a price so I hope he's decided to sell it

RS Nuts - totally agree, with that rolling road report saying "running extremly lean" I expect ill be putting pistons in it

one of my old cars.was a lovely standard car with a mint leather trim when i first sold it a couple of years ago and was only a 2 owner car then.its been passed about a bit though as i had it back 3 times and resold it.

the guy who sold it to indy genuinely didnt know what was wrong with it(he bought it from me a while back),it sounded iffy though with a bad rattle that he couldnt find where it was coming from.

defo worth buying if its right money-would have had it myself had i have been offered it- INDY!

Don't quote me Jay but i'm under the impression that when Indy bought the car he didn't know there was a problem! In fact i'm sure thats what he's said!

The way you've written that says to me that the owner before Indy knew there was a problem?
