Golf Starter Motor Fitting
how easy is it to change a starter on a golf mk4 driver 1.8??
basically in a drunken promise i said i wud do it for a mate but never done one on a volkswagon before...are they easy and any major problems i may encounter.

Fiddly due to VW bolting 2 brackets to the bolts that hold the motor in. Just no space to work and the cables need a little pursuasion to move about.

mk4 won't have the engine mount attached using the starter holes, that was the mk3.
iirc 2 16mm bolts, theres a fiddly wire cover thing that sometimes doesn't get refitted and the wires.
