High low 12's or high 11's should be within reach.

Its very rare i race anything from a stand still anyway, what does say an R1 do 50-150mph? out of interest or even 0-150mph.

For ages i've been threatening to video my cossie against my bike to show the difference in REAL terms and not pub talk. I think when its back together i'll get this done. Can show any situation from rolling start to starting at 100mph

Now do i let someone ride my bike or drive my car?

Just so people don't think my comments are biased, I passed my bike test (17) before my car test and so KNOW what I am talking about when it comes to know what a 500bhp Cossie can do to a bike and at what speed .

I currently ride a ZZR1100 of 1997 vintage (the derestricted 145bhp BUS of a bike ).

If it was 200kg, I would be HAPPY .

I think the quoted dry weight is 220kg . Probably more like 237kg in the real world . And it only does 178mph at Brunters and is SLOWER than my old Sapphire Cossie above 100mph.

What do you call a decent one ?

Most recent is a ZXR6R, that was REALLY slow (in a straight line) .

The one thing that car owners have to appreciate is traffic - unless the road is totally clear, then all it takes is one car in the way, and the bike is LONG GONE over the horizon .

Around the Nurburgring though, a well sorted 400bhp Cossie can push R1 equipped marshalls ALL the way round, so that in the end they realise you are faster and let you go in front and TRY to follow instead .

Was it Ashfield Pete on the R1 in PF mag Mike? What happened to Rupert's Skyline? Did it melt a piston?

Yes it was Pete dressed up as a Power Ranger . Ruperts "600+ claimed" engine let go big style . Good advert for the engine builders - humbled by a Ford.

3rd tends to be the first gear that gets "all" the poke when most people drive, also isn't it smaller than the others?

36 psi at 7k would be full power ?and peak gearbox destroying torque would have occured at alot less revs than that ask your gear box
