Default X-Type Diesel Jags

Has anyone got one of these??or heard of horror stories???

I am contemplating one as you can get them for about £10k now and seem alot of car for the money.
It will have to be a Diesel though due to the large amount of miles i will be doing.
what are the average running costs or basic repair bills.
Cheers

Far from it mate.

Very nice cars the x-types, although have you considered the E39 530d? Much better car in every way in my opinion.

I pull the things apart for a living.

Admitidly it has a jag badge on it.. but dont be fooled by that.

I agree though the 5 series is MUCH better....

I'll have to agree i'm afraid, the interior is nicer than the mondeo and it might look nicer on the drive but it's all mondeo underneath, and come service time you'll be paying alot more just because it has a jag badge on the bonnet.

2.5 a4/a6 - £10k will buy a nice one! but i think the 530d e39 would be the best option or a merc e320 cdi, maybe a c320 cdi?

I dont really know why people say its mondeo this and mondeo that. It doesnt look like a mondeo, doesnt drive like a mondeo, the interiors nothing like a mondeo and its not the same underneath as Ford never did an AWD drive mondeo so dont know why people assume this.

And its more expensive than a mondeo because its a BETTER car, not just because of the badge.

ford did do a awd mondeo and funny enough it's almost identical to the x type awd

only difference is ford never did a v6 awd. But the diesel xtype only comes as a fwd, it shares it's engine, gearbox, suspension, brakes & subframes with a mondeo.

I know mercs have they're faults but you can't deny a 320 cdi is an amazingly quick bit of kit.
