Default CVH Stud and nut kits

I know these are available, just wondered how they work.

Is it just a case of fitting them in place of the headbolts, or does the block have to be drilled and tapped for them?

So, If I was to have the sump off, and looked down the headbolt holes, I could see out of the bottom?

NO!! Why is that relevant?

They are a direct fit. Old ones out, new ones in, but you should thoroughly clean the threads out before fitting the new ones. Ideally run a tap down there.

I still don't understand

I thought, insted of just a headbolt, where you tighten it down just from the top, with a std and nut kit, you tightened it from top and bottom for better clamping force.

Diagrams to help a numpty anyone?

It is a stud with a thread each end. You screw the stud into the threaded hole in the block, then put the gasket and head on, then the washer and nut. Simple!!

No, the head bolt holes do not go into the sump, there is no need to remove the sump to fit the stud and nut kit.
