Default How would i sort this....?

Baically, my S2 has developed a hole in the radiator, and pissing water frequently Gave it some radweld and it is holding up for now.

Anyway, whats causing it is that when im on boost, the engine is moving back in the bay, then when i step off the gas, it moves forward again, resulting in the turbo banging into the radiator, which has, over time put the hole in it.

How would i go about sorting it? - Immediately thought engine mount bushes would stop the engine moving as much, but is that the cure?

Cheers.

Engine mount mate..

Have you got an front mount cooler? If not that's quite some movement from the engine. EASY job to fix, not dear either, unless you buy new, or uprated mounts.

Get a mate to sit in it, handbrake on, and bring the car to biting point and you should see which mount is worn.

id say it was your gearbox mounts mainly

dont think you should put rad weld in though as i heard it can block the water feed for the turbo

Replace the engine mount std ford one will do fine unless you have more than 250bhp and replace the gearbox/engine mount for a escort diesel one

If you poly mounts you'll get alot of vibration from the engine through the car
