id say go for it mate - hes got a 12k car to loose, your putting up what, £5k tops?
They are good odds IMHO - and there seems to be a lot of support on here for the cos to win it.
Nothing like some serious stakes to focus the mind and cut through the bullshit.
not that I know but Id say it would be al ver in the first 60ft....the evo will either take off and you wont see which way it went, or he'll bog down and you'll take off and he wont be able to get going properly.
of course you might fuck it and light the rears up

mr brannen, no offence but your asking on a ford website and asking people who have NEVER tried whatt your about to do
forgive me if i reply with humor,,,,, i keep forgetting that this is a serious site where we all must only tell jokes when we are allowed by the people who start the thread
oh and to answer the question,,, unless its from 50 to 150 ON a straight undamaged road comming from a bloke whos raced cars on the M1/M25 BLAH BLAH BLAH id have to say the evo will win im afraid
but thats going from there quicker on track, they make a shite driver a good driver where a cossie shows whos a shite driver instantly
in a nut shell UNLESS youa good driver ( never seen you so dont know) and hes a driver of the same skill,,,, YOUR GONNA HAVE TO BUY ANOTHER CAR

The EVO VIII with a 8000rpm rev limit can pull almost 180mph gearing wise but it needs MAJOR POWER, definitely more than 380 or even 400 or even 420bhp...
...unless we are talking this power at the wheels...

This is my car...
note that this is at the wheels, on a dyno dynamics dyno, which actually here we call it "the heartbreaker". Racegas mix, a damn leaking blow off valve, and the car has been upgraded much more since then...
Asking me about 1/4 miles i 'd say the number starts from 11....
I love Cossies, i am a DEDICATED Ford fan but from a standing start there are few cossies that can pass an Evo from a standing start...
P.S. So dedicated cossie fan that my cams on my Evo are made by Cosworth!!!!
