Don't bother, seriously.
I did make an adaption for mine to divide the turbine housing and run separate turbine discharge and wastegate vent, but it was shit. Noisey yes, worthwhile no.
As others have said, spend it on strippers. Much more fun IMO.

I'm not a 'muppet room here for the sake of it' person.
I like cars and are interested in them and this is a great forum to be on with the sheer info available here.

if you want to make your car faster spend the money on something that is worthwhile and will help you...if you want noise get a walk round halfords and pick up a sub box.

You still dont get it, do ya?
It clearly reads. LOOKING into doing one on my erst.
Its not for the noise. The reason why im thinking of doing it is because the actuator on my turbo dont properly cos the turbo is for another car.
That a good enough reason?

What doesnt your actuator do correctly? Im sure there a way around it without spending 500quid+ on an external gate setup.
Esp as actuator is relevant to the specific turbo rather than the engine.
Post the problem and people can help.

Problem is Turbo compressor housing is large. I have to spin it around so the boost pipe for the intercooler will not be touching the gearbox. I did this and thats where i came unstuck. The actuator wont mount on the compressor housing now because it had to be 'spun' around. I tried to make a new bracket for it to sit on, but it sits at a shitty angle.
That the reason for asking about doing an external gate. Yes i think the noise of a screamer pipe is cool, but thats just part of it.
If you think its a bad idea, then say so with a reason.
Not something spasticated like Porkie and his merry men have been saying.
Personally, i dont give a shit what they think. I wanted to know what people with the experience of external gates thought.
Thankyou please.

well i know that xrt-si managed to mount a t34 with .63 housing on his mk xr2 and thats with a 2.1 zetec engine
he never had a problem,,,,, apart from hes cars shell twists like a fooker at 13psi at high rpm in 5th gear so he cant have anymore boost as nobody is brave enough to go higher
speak to rick on here mate, hes a TOP TOP TOP bloke even though he looks like elvis's catalogue model secret son hes got a "reasonable" 1600 cvh running a t34 too
