Default Rear caliper question , 2wd

My cars been off the road for about 2 months now my rear drivers side calpiper is sticking on and making my disk glow red

Im going to take it apart asap , but is the caliper knackered ??? and is a 2wd saff caliper the same used on the 3 door ?

I was thinking of getting them off and working the piston in and out and greasing it up a bit , but dont know if its enough , want to get it to the rollers soon but niggly little problems keep popping up like this , maybe something to do with sitting with handbrake on for so long

nah it's knackard, sometimes see them on ebay new for about £100 a pair.

you can't really rebuild them as you can't get the internal bits so new is the only option, you can however grease the arm on the top, but it will go wrong again within a few weeks.

Any mk2 sierra rear calipers are the same, i also think the 3 dr are the same but just confirm that

Greasing them is about as much use as a chocolate fireguard...... get yaself down the scrappers..... any sierra or granada with solid discs on rear will use exactly the same rear calipers

Mine were binding slightly and failed the M.O.T....So fitted these.BRANDNEW £80 of E-BAY.

rab its not really worth fucking about striping down with new seals etc,i got a pair for £100 and you give your old ones back mate


+i always just leave my car in gear with no handbrake then work the cable up and down a few times everytime im out in it

saying that ive got a sticky front one now

and im pretty sure my grooved discs have all been fitted the wrong way round
