Awesome, what a combination :D

Largely to simplify things, no real reason why 1 or 2 turbos will make any more peak power on any given engine that im aware of.
Might make an interesting discussion thread that as im sure the likes of mark shead would have good input into the 1 turbo vs 2 turbo debate if we catch him on the right day, not at 3am though, lol

Aye its maybe not the best time !
Intresting though, 2 smaller turbos would reckon to be running less load but would they not have to produce as much power as a single turbo anyway to get the desired BHP/ performance hence putting them under more strain than a larger single unit ?
I dont know but would like to find out.

1 turbo or 2 turbos, makes no real odds if its specced correct.
1 turbo with twice the flow capacity and equally well specced as 2 smaller ones will behave almost the same if all else was equal.
Theory has it that 2 if slightly better, but reality never seems to show it.
Much more complication and cost with two, and MUCH harder to get a perfectly specced turbo for your application.
There are lots of big power twin and single turbo Supras around, twins used to be more common on mega power ones in Japan as they never had any "home" produced turbos that werer good for more than about 850bhp, and never seem to like to use ones without Jap branding on em.
And 2JZ Supra engine in an S2000, yeah, pretty common, tho kind of changes the characteristics of the car, the revvyness goes, tho id prefer the 2JZ.
Could turbo the original engine if want, dont loads too, and can get big power from them, and then you got a turbo and a 10,000rpm motor.
Wonder how the bigger/longer 2JZ affects the handling, as bulkhead hasnt been modded.
On Phils new S15 they have modded the bulkead loads to move the 2JZ engine back to sort the handling...

a few lads at work have had s2000's, and both sold them as they said they were not a great drivers car , shame, they never seem to have caught on over here really , I have never driven one, but looks a very good car on paper

Ryan-
Well just post the link!
That focus isnt done either.
I fail to be that impressed by anything anymore tho, so dont hold your breath your the screams of excitment, lol
Will-
Ive driven a good few, and hard, and i tend to agree.
To me its another case of "fast lap times dont mean more fun", something most forget on here.
They hard work to drive on the limit (very small powerband if you want to make the most of it, drop 3 gears from cruise to hardest accel), and while they mega grippy, the break away is sudden and snappey, so fast rather than fun.
But most people dont take their cars to the limits and just want a quick good handling car, so its fine for most.

regardless of how much quicker that s2000 probably now is, it just somehow seems wrong to get rid of the vtec lump, its what makes a honda a honda imo!
cool car, but just seems wrong in some weird way!

Stavros, I agree totally with what you are saying if its about a skyline style setup, but in the case of the twin turbos on the supra, im sure you cant match the low down response with one big one.
Id be going single anyway though, fuck all that complexity just for the sake of making it a little easier to drve for people who cant drive properly and dont know what gear to be in

Ryan? How is that similar to my old engine? Ive never had a 2.4litre 5cyl engine?
Says its got a 5speed dogbox too, not an OSG one?
Im confused! Its a ford/volvo 5cyl lump, no Nissan or even Jap parts at all as far as i can see?
What Skyline style setup?
You mean cause Supra ones are seqential as standard?
Stock setup is mega restrictive though and nigh on impossible to get workling with bigger turbos, so then your back to "normal" twin turbos like on a Skyline, and then its pointless.
