I rilly like the old style tom tom one ie the one that was on sale last year.

Is there anywhere that is selling them off other than ebay?

Alternativly what are the new ones like? they dont look as good quality?

We've just bought one of these are we're very impressed so far. Had a Navman and thought it was terrible. Took about 20mins to get a signal when you first turned it on!

Really? Mines been spot on since I got it. Got a few one way streets wrong, and a few "no right turn" turns wrong (ie, tell me to turn right when in reality I am not allowed) but thats to be expected really - no worse than an A-Z would be at predicting what direction you can use roads in

But, no offence, you must be a shit driver if you turn where it tells you if there's no road there!!!! Do you not look at the road? Or just rely on the Sat Nav?

i do look at the road mate, thats not the only problem with the tomtom it was 1 of many
it takes ages to lock on,it freezes, its 40 quid to update a map that they dont and wont tell you the age of it. they just say its the "latest"
easy to use ill give it that i got it new in october 2004 and it still works.
tomtom go classic

To be fair, when you turn it on, mine can sometimes take upto nearly 3mins or so to lock on to sats

Not ever frozen on me mind, and I have no problem "getting" maps for them

The one thing that does piss me off about it - you type in a postcode, and it won't find the road (or comes up with "Unknown Road") but type the location in manually, it finds the road straight away
