Default PC Problem...!!

My homepage is set to Google.com but when I open the internet explorer, it opens some Virus Protection website is this Spyware?

any ideas how to get rid of please?

Change your homepage in "Internet Options" back to what it was, then run Spyware scans, and clear your Temp History/Cookies etc....

the homepage in internet options is Google mate... deleted cookies etc and run spyware..

still no joy

I use spybot searc and destroy...

weird one hey.. doing my head in, as It keeps coming up with a warning saying "Spyware/Trojan"

Certainly effective Spyware removal!! Very strange!! What brings up the messages saying "Spyware/Trojan"?? I take it thats some sort of Anti Virus program?

Im not too good with PC's

but in the bottom right hand side, there is a Yellow shield symbol, which flashes

just doing a scan on AVG? and see if any virus's come up...

no test appears... its a flashing yellow triangle with an explanation mark in it..

the virus scan has revealed 5 infected files

Can you post a screenshot of the icon and any message it displays.

Also press Ctrl -Alt-Delete and post a picture of your task manager process list.

Spybot is normally quite good.. Have you ran Adware on there also?

I found these would normally fix problems that Spybot had missed.

If that fails, Download 'Hijack This' and when you run it, generate the log and post on here.. That way we can help with removing random shit from your PC

You've got a virus, i had this on my pc.

I got rid of it by doing a system restore to an earlier point

If you run 'Hijack This' and put the log up, I'll let you know what to do..

I had to do this about 5 times a day at work and also for external clients.

Im away from my PC at the moment, but will do what you have said later..

What basically happens is the internet page opens... looks for google.com then goes to this virus protection page..

Try dragging the google.co.uk from the address bar to the home link.
