HELP!! NO GEARS???

Hi peeps, I took my car out last night and did about 15 miles (addmitely, with a lead foot all the way), and i pulled up, switched off. Fine . Got back in 5 mins later, put it in first, pulled off about 5 ft and then felt a light fud from the gearbox area and all gears gone.
Any ideas? Clutch?, Gearbox?
Any info much appreciated as my car is stuck on the driveway being a melon .
Sorry, forgot to mention the fact that it is a Mondeo ST200 on a V plate.

could be a a number of things.
when i snapped the mainshaft in my gearbox it was similar to that, but i was in gear so the car wouldnt move, had to be dragged along its fron tires.
the linkake to the gear selector could have broken, this would stop you from engaging any gears.
whe you say gone, does the engine idle? and you cant get into any gears. then i suggest it may be the linkage or the selector inside the gearbox that has broken

Engine idles, the gear leaver goes into all gears but when the clutch is lifted, the engine will continue to idle. The reverse lights do come on when reverse gear is engaged.
Also, it won`t go into reverse unless i use the clutch....

if its in the lever section, there is a small chance there could be a problem with the clutch not engaging the gearbox to the engine
