SECS monitor screen fault
Started the car up today to get it ready for sant pod tomorrow and my secs monitor screen has developed a fault
Basically all it has on it now is a bit of writing like
WATER TEM
and it stops there with the rest being dark blocks
Has anyone else had this problem and can it be fixed as i like what it does and have made it a promenent feature in my dash

Daz,
There are 2 faults that can happen on these old version monitors.
1) Garbage characters, mispelt words and chinese looking characters appear.
This is due to the solder joints between the display board and the main PCB.
Usually running a soldering iron over these 16 connections sorts the problem.
Otherwise its a new display sub module.
2) Missing whole columns or lines of dots/characters usually
means the display board has been twisted/flexed or is under strain.
Essentially, the LCD glass is being twisted off the display PCB.
Typically this happens on monitors that have been removed from the
supplied mounting plate and screwed onto an uneven surface or over
tightened fixings.
This can be recovered usually by undoing the fixings and flexing the
boards slightly.
