Default Cars you could afford but have never owned??

seeing a type of car I never got round to buying today reminded me of a long list of cars that I should have owned..
believe it or not the car I always wanted but never owned was a cavellier GSI 2000 saloon in silver or grey
always liked the look of them but I bought a RST instead in 1995
never owned a Series 1 turbo aswell and should have.

*edit* something like this

Lotus Carlton, i'd still like one now but i'm sure at 14yr old it would be big bill time like Cossy ownership, so i'm gunna pass. Ideally now i would have a Skyline R34 Gtr but im too skint too.

So nearly bought a E30 M3 years ago but got my 1st Cossie instead as I thought the M3 would cost too much ŁŁŁ if I broke it... How wrong was I when I melted a piston in the Cossie after only 6 weeks of ownership.....lol

For me it had to be the Escort Cosworth. Allways wanted one but when it came down to it I couldn't do it.

others I've wanted but thought better of it include M5 (previous model) E46 M3, 911 c2 (964)

Clio is a great experience to own you won't regret one.

Also a good gti-r is nice too. Front mounts can be had for Ł195 inc delivery and at 1.2 bar a healthy one is a flying machine.

Yeah im very tempted by both cars at the moment i know its not the same as the clio v6 but my missues 172, thats quite moddified dosnt half fly and handles pretty damn well even though it has cost her lol, also everyone slates the clio build quality hers dont squeak or rattle at all.

Seen how cheap decent pulsars are these days

Before i emigrated to austrailia i had my own 24hr recovery buissness and had lots of vehicles mostly given to me or very cheeply bought, including insurance write offs. I was mostly behind the wheel of a truck, or a diesel van, so at that time on my wish list was a dual deck, tilt body, speclift truck with a big hiab, but i had to make do with an old ford cargo. During this time i didnt go to RS gatherings i went to peterbourough truckfest. My long time car i owned at this time was a MK1 escort RS 2000, i had it for about 16 years under a tarp in the garage most of the time. I sold it to a freind just before i left. Since moving to austrailia i have got myself a mint 1992 escort RS cosworth (my dream car when i was in the UK but i never thought i woud ever be able get one ) i dont ever see me selling it, however i am still on the look out for a mk1 escort or MK1 cortina that i can fix up. ( OLD SCHOOL RULE)

Although I have always loved RS's and wanted an Escort Cosworth since they were released, there were 3 other motors I fancied when I could finally afford it!

I looked at all of them at the same time I looked at my current Escos!

One was an R33 GTR Skyline, one was a Toyota Supra Twin Turbo and the other was a 1990 911 turbo.

I'm well chuffed with the decision! (Was 6 years ago, all were around the same price then!!)

I still want a Skyline. But an R34 GTR! Escos will be staying with me for the forseeable, regardless of what else I get!
