All you have to do is ask yourself can the T6 doing something that I need it to, that the SM4 can't, if the answer is yes, then obviously you have no choice but to swap. If the answer is no, then there is no reason for changing .

FYI T6's fetch Ł1300-1500 second hand depending on model version and Martin has given you the new price (that is JUST the ECU and you will require a loom as well).

Also, just so you know, if Mark can map Autronic, he would have no bother with T6. In fact anyone that knows how to map would be able to do both ECUs without any bother.

I hope that clarifies sufficiently? If you have a link for the SM4, then post it up and we can see for ourselves the capability differences .

I think I can sum it up. T6 is more expensive and better, but its all down to your mapper.

What I don't get is the corners thing. Does the SM4 fly out of the window if you corner too hard or something???

The SM4 and T6 are both aimed at completely different markets so IMO
you cannot directy compare them unless the prices are similar of course.

Just a quick question.. could it be that the pectal (besides being awesome) is favoured because of where it is built?
I mentioned the MOTEC ecu and no comments, the Electromotive and nothing.

There's plenty others out there..

Haltech
AEM
HOLLY
SDS
ETC,ETC....

Sure some of them may not be used in F1 cars but I really don't think anyone here is planning on running an F1 car or Engine on the streets.

I still believe it all comes down to what the mapper is an expert on. Knowledge wins over any expensive ECU

It doesn't only takes the Yanks to "tell as it is", as several people pointed out that this post had a completely different motive from the one suggested.

Very strange people, you lot.

Dave,

If you wanna get rid SM4, drop me a line

Don't loose heart in the project tho, everyone goes through this stage & is probably the main reason why so many decent Cossie's get ripped apart !

Keep the faith my son ! LOL

S'funny, as I reached the opposite conclusion . At first I thought he WAS serious, and now I see it as he was trying to show the SM4 is almost (but not quite ) as good as the T6 . As RichPON said, you lot really ARE strange . Just be happy with what you have chosen and leave it at that .

We jest & a lot of shite is quoted between the facts but do you realise someone following this has actually rung Mark to ask why Autronic is not suitable for track cars. No it aint a joke & not a wind up . Its scarey that someone is dumb enough to take the banter on here & believe it.

Rod if its the person I think it is, then I dont really appreciate the humour. If someone is spending a lot of money with Mark looking for the best possible results then why shouldnt they question these things, Not everyone on this board is as clued up as you, but then not everyone has spent 10 years in the game. Does it mean this person has less of a right to be on here, or just to be ridiculed.

Besides I am sure the question was more on the lines of "I intend to use my car on the track more than quarter miles etc (like a lot of the MAD camp do) so would a T6 be better suited to my needs?"

Doesnt sound that silly, unless you take it out of context really
