Default 1.6 Ford focus - Air filter, Will i loose MPG?

Hi, I want to add a K&N Air filter to my Ford focus, Will my fuel get worse? Or better? Or will it be about the same?

Cheers, Benni.

After doing some reading, A K&N Panel filter is better, Better response and smoother. So a panel filter it is.

Cause you seriously think a poxy air filter is gonna improve the performance of a non turbo 1.6litre 1200+kg car enough to notice anything at all?

if you want increased performance, and better fuel consumption, get rid of some weight from the thing. or get a diesel and chip it loads moe power.

I wasn't too sure, Reading on a ford focus forum I’m a member on a lot of people say it does make a difference. Not a big difference but throttle response was noticeably better. Although my brother tells me because the car becomes slightly louder they just think it's faster. Don’t think I will bother now after the replies I got to this thread. I will be putting the money towards bluefin as I should notice a difference there.

Thanks for all your honest opinions, Saved me £70, Ben.
