mate of mine got an h plate escort cab...1.6 cvh efi,problem is this....the power drops off after 4000 ish rpm and it just splutters.it does this in neutral and all gears while driving

anyone any ideas?

 

so far he has changed- coil pack, plugs ,leads , ecu , edis , fuel regulator , fuel filter, inlet temp sensor , water temp sensor, tps , the water temp sensor made a bit off a difrence


im thinking maybe injectors?

 

sounds like the cams worn to excess, that or theres an air leak or fueling problem

take the injectors out on at a time and start the engine (it should turn over on three injectors, check to see you getting the same ish amount of fuel out of them, also try changing the fuel filter
