i want to replace my front door, its a upvc front door, but the door frame goes higher than the door and has a small window above the door. Looking at other doors to buy i cannot see any similar type door frames so am a bit lost as to the best way to replace my door. ? can i buy any door the same width and scre the hinges in to my exisiting frame? as the hindges on my current door are simply screwed into the frame

the door shoud be in two sections, the frame and the center, just change the middle section and leave the frame and door frame.

you can only fit another door in to that frame if it the same make or same same profile.you would have to measure the rebates to get the right size it is easy to buy a hole new frame as the door is hung and all the locks are fitted for you.maybe buy a small window for the top if you cannt get a door and fanlight if you go to a company that makes upvc doors and windows they will make it to fit.hope this helps

MY doors the same idea as yours Gra and we recently go tours replaced, thing its jus a window at the top, and a normal door frane, and inbetween they join it with some sort of joiner thing (juslooks like a white bar above the door if that makes sense)
