I did see it and the way the text from her book was being read and the tone was in a manner that portrayed her to be a bit thick....

Otherwise, what was the joke ?

I do know the adage Neil yes, but come on, do you REALLY think that what happend on the show was a calculated and educated publicity stunt? The guy was being a jerk, and walked off in an attempt to "prtect his lady's honour" - fair enough....

But she got less stick than he did - no-one ACTUALLY said anything derogatory about her. He got it worse when it was said that the two hardcore fans of his band didn't actually exist! Ed Burn got the piss taken out of him for being on the Carphone Warehouse commercials, the guy from the Guillimotts got the piss taken out of him for his bizarre band (the office stationary jokes) etc.... No-one actually took the piss out of Chantelle in a direct way. He (Simon, host) read a few quotes from her book, which WERE silly quotes, and read them in a humerous manner - hardly an attack was it?

I just liked the bit right at the end where he says "All I did was read from his wifes book- did it upset him? Cos I read the whole thing and it upset me"
