WARNING - scammer on the prowl on UK forums...
sorry if this is a repost, but a mod put this up on fiestaturbo about a scamer going about on uk forums so though i should say about it here

Taken from another forum, but well worth thinking about.....
Theres a guy doing a scam at the moment on UK car forums. He posts up saying he has a garage full of car parts to shift, all very rare, desirable stuff. ANd great prices. Only accepts Paypal and if anyone wants to collect he goesa bit quiet on them. Usually claims to be rebuilding a V8 Landrover but whatever the forum is (Opel Manta, Mk1 Astra, Ford Escort) he's got piles of stuff for them from an old project.
Needless to say people get excited, pay him hods of cash by Paypal and then he disappears...

Please keep it in mind that forums are no more trustworthy than the local rag and probably far less safe than eBay.
Be wary out there. If it seems to good to be true it probably is and if someone won't play ball with cash on collection then run a mile.

yeah i know, gotta be worth a sticky for a bit i reckon, and maybe sticky in the for sale rooms.
not that he can post in them without being gold memebr, but to lay out £20 then get £££'s back i reckon he would the cunt!

have to say im shocked it wasnt already posted before me though.
no matter it here now.
although it the cock cant post things for sale etc as he not gold member he could always pm people and stick ad in different room, so worth watching out for newbes.

i had some gezzer try scam me when i very first started using the internet with dodge cheques and asking me to send money to shipping companys i was very gulable then and nearly had my bank accounts frozen and investigated my frad squad mthere are some right dodge mo foes

damn, i not come across anyone that has falen for that old trick.
better watch out for the fake paypal and ebay emails.
paypal and ebay will NEVER email you to ask you to click a link and sign in to prove you are who you say, so dont fall for it.
and ones claiming to be banks saying your online banking is at risk or some crap, all fake, so be wary mate, if in doubt, dont do it

ye i was just a kid sellin somet and just started using the internet so thought wow this is a great way to make money luckerly my bank was the sort that took 5 days to clear a cheque and i couldnt withdraw funds from the cheque till it was cleared or i would have been well screwed 2500 quid in debt

i keep getting emails from some cock in africa or somewhere given the crap someone has died leaving loads of money, ill send you £200k cheque you clear it keep £20k send the rest back sort of crap.

Sad thing is that it's so easy to rip people off over the net thats why there all at it

Mate were on about individual people selling stuff on forums not people hacking you paypal account
