im not sure if id rather admit to working at aldi or actually shopping at aldi,,,,, but i know for a fact that ANYONE who i read on a CV as a manager of aldi wouldnt be looked at as the same level as a manager of sainsburys,,,, but thats just my opinion

thats prob why i dont employ anyone though

btw,,,,, if im honest and i am,,,,, im actually very proud to say ive never even parked in a aldi car park,,,,,,, but i wear tastless gold, burberry, have ginger hair and pick my nose in public

mmmmmmmmmm wonder what that implies

though to be fair i was nervous at my job interview for halfords and looking back i wouldnt take a job there if they offered me 10k more a year than what im on now,,,,, so im not one to take advice from

From what I've heard, Aldi pay really really good money compared to other supermarkets.

Yes, a store openned here a few months back, starting pay was £6-50 rising to £8-50 after six months or something. Which is good money for sitting on your arse all day scanning stuff on the tills.

Weird, today at uni i was reading a bit about graduate oppertunities.

Aldi were advertising Graduate jobs within 2 years leading to a store manager position offering 36k + company car.

After 5 years they claim to offer an area manager position, in charge of 6 stores, taking home 56k + company car.

Not bad money but i worked in a supermarket (all be it stacking shelves (Tesco)) for the last 3 years and it is a shite work environment in my opinion! Hated it!

I used to drive for them class one, job was quite crap to be blunt, easy enough but loads of silly rules, never know what days you will be getting off, and never 2 days together.
Only let you work 40 hours a week, rate was £9.40 per hour but that was for overtime and weekend work so was not really that good.
mega stricked on wearing shirt and tie to drive a bloody truck
Also had to clean anything that you spilt and prep load and unload the trailer. only used to do a few hours driving, rest was loadind/unloading and helping in warehouse!
Shop staff get good money but they have to work for it! on till then cleaning(they like the shop spotless), putting stock out taking waste away they used to have to know every price for items as had no scanners/computers lol
managers get some pretty good money, but have to help with fitting out the new stores when opening and loads of other pretty stupid stuff.
I was quite glad to see the back of it as its a very strange company.
back on the tippers now no shirt and bloody tie

I know it's good money, but if you work on the shopfloor, you don't half earn the money.

The staff always work like dogs, running around like blue arsed flies. My housemate works there, he does 12 hour days with no breaks, not even a lunch break.

They cant legally make you work 12 hours without at least 2 breaks

I know they can't, my housemate is Portuguese and they take him for a mug.

They run their shops on barebones regarding staff, so I don't think there is much chance for breaks.

I wouldn't work for them.

Doesnt surprise me, if they can get away with employing folks from other countries just because they think they can make them work harder/longer then they will
