my god, looking at those mullets, and the cars in the back ground makes you realise how old the Sierra is now, I still think of it as a relatively modern car with my rose tinted glasses on
ahh 1987 I remember it well, just out of school and not a care in the world.

The red one IS andy rouses, he raced a red one in the 87 wtcc, think it was then sold to chris hodgetts as he raced a red one in 88 btcc. In 89 rob gravett run his own team, trakstar, and his car was red and white

That's what I always liked about Andy Rouse.........
.......never got caught cheating...........[/irony]
....er....ummm......the exhaust housing was cracked and needed welding up........
.....'cos of course there was no budget...........no, of course it didn't help the turbo "spool up" quicker..........
[/Rouse fan]

Funny to see this post on there have been watching the 1988 and 1990 sessons over the last few nights what cars 550 BHP a mans car some may say.
Nice pics chap.
Question for any one in the know.
in 1988 there where 4 groups the cars where split up into :
Something like the.
Groups
Group 1. 3001cc + this was the RS500 group.
Group 2. 2300cc the BMW where in the group.
and
Group 3. 2000cc Golf Gti
Group 4. 1600cc S1 rst
i have wondered this for some time BUT why was the RS500 in a group for over 3 Ltr cars when i know there 2.0 Ltr where they bored out can someone help on this????????

Therefore, 2000cc multiplied by 1.7 = 3400cc

There is a saying in motorsport. 'if you are not cheating, you aren't trying hard enough!'

Cool - love the video of the RS500's racing around Birmingham (think it's on the video section of the RSOC site), I remember watching it as a kid on telly!

What's the extra pulley and bit on the cam cover for (connected to the hoses)?
Cheers,
Andy
