Forgot to say,
I have directly experienced mapping sessions at both SCS and
Norris Designs dynos and the TUV paper means jack sh*t.
(not a diss to SCS)
They are identical dynos calibrated the same way.
One just a happens to be in Peterborough, the other in Wiltshire.

I have been through various TUV type approval processes in my career
in electronics design.
There are MANY levels and grades so until we know what type SCS's
dyno has it could be a self certified type or a full blown independant inspection.
More info here...
http://www.uk.tuv.com/web/product_te..._approved.html
It would be good if Mike could find out which TUV type and level Harvey has.
in electronics design.

Should have been put on a non tuv approved dyno as well really shouldnt it. Consistency and all that. Fucking TUV, why in gods name did you ever mention that Mike
But who cares tbh. Your engine will do the talking

Mike,
The TUV verification of the dyno doesnt change the way its calibrated
as this is specific to the make of dyno.
This was the point I was trying to get across.
Having the TUV certification only means an indepdent organisation comes
and checks your procedures and performs the calibration for you once a year.

Anyway, as Rich said, this is about my engine .

Ok Mike, Its always about you
Surprised you are using a T4 but then your tuner is Harvey and he does
like to stick to the old school....
(I like T4's for the record as they are robust)
I presume you are fitting an RP labs ECU

It was ME who chose to stick with the trusty T4, Harvey is building everything to my spec and what I want out of the car. He tells me if I want something that he doesn't agree with and I either over-ride him (oh-er ) or have a think about what he is telling me and agree to go along with him.
Regarding your comment about ECU choice, you might actually care to click on the link I posted at the beginning of the thread .

After searching 6 pages Nice, Proper Pectel jobbie
Surprised you are not using what you/Harvey are selling though ?
I presume there is a technical reason for that or is it bling factor ???

I'll sell mikes engine secrets to the highest bidder
last i heard it was cooper rings, arp bolts, md240 turbo, light blues, 4wd manifold, 2wd inlet all on a 205 block to save weight for racing. minty minty he is pushing the boats out super secret was that he has even managed to source and old school PE stroker kit

You don't have to read all six pages, all you have to do is see what inlet is on the car . Obviously you're not as clued up about Cossies as you would like to think .
If you were, you would know it wasn't a choice (other than it had to be this ECU or the top spec Motech one) , so why would I be squirming ?

Mike,
Chill, you are more sensitive to subjective banter than me LOL
I am fully aware of the specification of your inlet as I have had
direct experience of it myself using my own ecu.
Can you explain it or shall do it and I save you the cost of a call to Harvey

I'm perfectly chilled thanks, I just like to reply in a way that when you reply, people can see your agenda .

MIke,
No agenda - Just friendly banter
Havent bought Fast Ford since I was last in it
I have my ecu running on a car with the same roller barrels as it does support
multiple maps for precise throttle progression mapping.
As well as a merge feature for TPS and BOOST signal in the load calculation.
Also set up one on bike throttle bodies (fudges) which presents similar tuning
issues... unfortunately he killed the car before it was finally mapped.
So have a
I see you have the idle speed/ALS valve option

So just to clarify, you knew all along why I needed T6, but attempted to make me look like I wasn't prepared to use a product I sell . Nice .
And yes, that is why I wanted to keep my maram 247 shafted T4 .

I was in Fast Ford ages ago (2001/2002 ish I think) just after I designed
my ecu on my car and started selling monitors.
All those fast flashy high speed camera shots and we never left Bath
multistory car park. Still, was a good article..
