Default math question???

can anyone tell me what length of travel(hydraulic ram) i would need to move a ramp through approx 130° of travel?

cant seem to find anything on google, and its been fooking years since i did any real maths

well,its maths! and you need to know the length of the bloody ramp and how far the ram is from the pivot point i would have thought!

Ok! calm down dear.....
ramp will be 8ft. and the ram to pivot point distance is what i need to know, hence the reason of asking the ram travel!

closer to the pivot point the ram is, the less travel it will need to move through, however the force on the ram will go up conciderably the closer to the pivot point you get. you need length of ramp, exactly your desired pivot point and the exact distance from the pivot point the ram fixing point is, and at what angle the ram is set at on its points, also your datum point is needed as a reference, to put a ramp through 130 degrees it will surely end up upside down nearly so this cant be right surly, most ramps do 40 degrees from 0// flat?

0.3m!!! just put it at the right pivot point

You need to know the pivot point before you can work out the length of travel. try getting some long thing bits of card and a few of those funny brass split pins, what are they called again? Alternatively get onto trigonometry.

go and measure a skip lorry ram
thast what you'll be looking at for that sort of movement and range
