they are great 4 plaing games on, but you want to try get a set with at least 2 hdmi ports, once youve played the latest games on it youll never want to go back to a small screen.

Its by far the best plasma on the market at the moment in my opinion

If you want one with 2 hdmi ports get the 427 instead of the 4270 bout 200 dearer but u can get that cheaper elsewhere if you look around i.e curry's website

The 360 doesnt play tru 1080 hddvd you have to buy the hd player and run it trough the 360, its only 129 quid though, and if you want to run 7.1 surround sound aswell the two hdmi ports come in handy, maybe not straight away , but youll need some where to plug the ps3 into aswell

It's not that good going on spec - it's not full HD for a start (1080i, not 1080p) but it'll look a damned-site better than normal TV.

No PC or DVI input either - surprising really. HDMI is fine for that though.

We have around 30 42" plasmas at work - been in place for just over 2 1/2 years. Out of that lot, only 2 are still working - the rest have gone faulty either due to poor signal causing an internal failure (18), and the rest have suffered component failures. I don't know what make they are, but I'm pretty sure they're not Pioneer (Sony perhaps?).

Actually, ignore everything I've just said - I know nothing Try a Google for "HD TV advice" websites maybe?

LCD is crap for gaming though due to the fast movement on screen hense he's better stickin with plasma as it can handle it better.

In tests that pioneer is beating other brands by far due to its blacks and colour depths being far more superior than any other make on the market at the moment and as said will handle ure 360 aswell m8.I watched a hd dvd on one in store and was totally taken away with the colours and depth to the film it was unreal to be honest and we all know they never set the screens up right in store i.e too much brightness etc etc so once i ad a fiddle it was amazing to see.

The pioneer 4270 is the screen im going for and im just waiting on the price to drop that lil bit more as i want a nice glass stand, surround sound system and a 360 all at same time so its gonna be a nice bundle am gonna av to shell out as it is

Go for it m8 u wont be disappointed

What a load of bollocks talked on this thread.

Avid Fan, First of the XBox 360 is HD as it either displays 720p, 1080i, 1080p as long as the TV/Monitor you connect it to can display one of those formats it will work fine. HDMI is only used for Sky HD at the minute and some upscaling DVD players. HDMI may offer a slightly clearer picture than component (not noticeable) but its mainly for copy protection.

The set you mentioned will be fine for xbox 360 as will this plasma below, but the set in the second link I think is a bit of a bargain as its a maximum of 1080p res.

Probably cause there is no real difference between 1080 and 720 from what ive seen and others have seen to be honest, and also the fact its got by far much better colour depth and blacks compared to any other crap on the market at the moment

Cant be arsed to read what others have said, but for what it is worth, I am going to buy the same one, mainly because it is considerably more attractive than a lot of the others.

the Pioneer plasma is in my opinion one of the better ones, though the market generally agrees that the Panasonics are the best. These are at a price though.

The main problem with the Plasma over the LCD equiv is screen burn in - esp with computer games. Watch this, and there will be no trouble.

Dont believe any of the other bullshit about the life of plasma screens - it will be obsolete long before it is too dim to watch!
