Yes mate, AFAIK nobody drifts one in the UK, but do a LOT in Europe and even the USA.
They perfectly fine, strong as an ox, not THAT heavy, and just fine.
2.3 is enough power, you dont need much, and it will stop you relying on power oversteer, as you cant.
Strip it right out (i bet the metal behind the bumpers etc weighs a ton), drivers bucket seat, weld the diff, should be just fine.
Will be wallowy as hell, but as long as YOUR in place, ie drivers bucket, youl be ok, my 360 is uber wallow spec, but its fine, just makes it a bit harder to transition and obv less feel, but its no biggie.
Easy enough to make the handbrake a flyoff one too, but need to look at the lever to tell you how.
Do it
PS- As with most Volvos, the turbo engines are a straight swap when you feel the need. Well in Europe they sold them with the engines as standard.

Stavros Cheers mate, I knew you'd be able to answer my questions. Looks like I may have to go and look at this today if it's still for sale. It's a 2.3 GLT do you know if it's turbo'd already?
That black one looks sweet!

No standard 240s in the UK had turbos, only Europe and I think the USA.
If they was already turbo, id own one, trust me
Will be 2.3 n/a. Possibly injection, possibly a big Zenith SU-Style single carb, possibly a big twin choke Solex or Weber, depends on age and stuff, I cant remember what models what anyhow, and they all about the same power.

Isnt that a 242?
Or better yet a 262?
From back in the days when Volvo model numbers were Type/cylinders/doors
So a 245 was a 200 series 4 cyl estate.
That means a 262 is a V6 2door. Big in the states, probably sold about 12 over here though!

Never sold any 2doors in the UK i dont think mate.
But yeah, not since late 70s early 80s has the 242/262 thing made any sense.
Itd be a 242 tho, its 4cyl.
Even in the early 80s the 4cyl 6cyl thing went out the window as 360s, 760s, 960s, etc all came with 4cyl lumps...

740s and 940s are common as muck in the UK, complete engines usually only cost about 100quid and go almost straight in 360s and 240s.
Easy way to get 2 or 2.3 litre turbo car.
The one in that vid and most the others dont use the stock engine tho, they use twincam heads from T5s and whatnot, or Volvo 16v race heads and shit like that.
