I didn't pay my bill for 2 months. They barred the line and sent the balance to a debt collectors to chase me, and chase me they did
I eventually started paying it when they told me a 'door to door agent' will come round to discuss it
Start payin

I didnt pay orange £150 as they wouldnt give me my ENTITLED upgrade. After about 3 months I recieved letter's from a solicitor and sent a cheque for £20 to keep them happy, more letter's so 2 month's later i sent a 10er and so on.
They cammot take you to court if you offer or make payment's but it could affect your credit rating, but I myself aint arsed about credit ratings.

Yep, as Big G says, providing you are seen to be making an effort to pay it, allbeit even small amounts at a time they cannot take you to court.
They will however notify Equifax and Experian that you (or your missus) have defalted on a payment, which could cause problems for you in the future.
Best thing to do is tell them you cannot afford it all in one go and come to an agreement with them to pay it back.
The worst thing you can do is just ignore them - that goes for any Company you owe money to. Most Companies will be more than willing to help provding you keep them up to date on your circumstances.

The thing about not being able to take you to court if you pay a minimal amount isn't correct.
In a past life, I have taken lots of people to court, even if they were paying £5 or £10 quite regularly.
Don't know about England, but up here the Sheriff has the discretion to order the whole amount payable or by instalments. If he allows instalments and the debtor misses just one payment by just one day, all bets are off and the whole balance is enforceable.

In answer to the original question, pay as soon as you can and don't ignore anything you receive from them.
