Default Zetec and key codes

Im wanting to use a 2.0 zetec in my kit car but im worried about if it will still work because of the key codes. If i remove the engine and gearbox, engine loom, fuse box, ecu will it all still work or this there anything ive missed

Thanks.

also will a 1.8 sump bolt straight up to the 2.0? been told its about 3-4cm more shallower than the 2.0 wich will be handy for better ground clearance.

You will need the original RED key and ignition lock ideally.

If not, its a trip to ford for a new red key and reprograming the ecu.

It also matters what year the car is your removing the engine from as some of the pats systems or imob's were not in the ecu but in a separate control box so you can run the engine by rewireing the engine harness so it all works without the need for the key.

I think this will apply to a mk1 mondeo mainly earlier the better although you could always have the newer mk2 engine and use the early loom and brain i suppose or just get a stand alone management system as i'm sure you will want 40's or tb's at some point

And yes the 1.8 sump does fit but use the escort one if i remember right
