Default DVD'S

i have millions of old vids i want converting to dvd, how do i do this??

also someone told me its best keeping the vids also because they dvds wont last long..??!!

has anyone else heard of this or have had problems with dvds working after a few years?

i tried this, i have an S-vid input on my pc, so thought i could simply connect an svideo lead fromthe VCR to the PC and capture the vhs then convert it to dvd, but it didnt work lol, so i would be interested in this as well, argos seel some sort of connector that claims to do this but its £40
