I test drove 1 was quick to a tone then seemed to die out. Was a nice little car but cant see the point when you can get a 4 seater jcw with all the upgrades for 13k ish. Me mate just picked up a nearly 2yo jcw with EVERY option for 15,800 showroom condition with 17k on it. Still struggleed to get past my mates 174k miler crx vti to a tonne

Boosted 122 cu in
We just made 240hp from our stock headed mini cooper S.
We have so far run 13.4@100 with no nitrous.
Last year we run 12.1 with nitrous but since then we have picked up 50 hp on the engine alone.
We are hoping to go deep 11s on the spray.Ill get some pictures up soon.

Too expensive for a blown 1.6
My mate has a JCW with the optional 18's on run flats and its downright shit in anything other than bone dry. Not the nicest of gates on the gearbox either. Nice cars but waaaaaaay overpriced due to the dealers offering guaranteed buy backs to keep the residuals high. Gives a false sense of quality then if the second hand ones hold their price

Ps As i'm sure you're aware, the well rubbered smooth track is a totally different environment to driving quickly on the public road. And for 21k there are a heap of better track toys

and yes you can get a cheao motor for the track but @ the end of the day whots wrong with using a 21k car on track aswell as on road it would be a shame not to use it properly

Was just saying a great track car doesnt make a great road car necessarily. I personally think its harder to make an ultimate handling road car because you have such a variation in surfaces and conditions to take into account.
Nowt wrong with the mini or using it on track, but i think theres better ways of spending Ł21k

Ł21,750 thats 250 quid less than list and 4 months on from when it was make....
It that not enough reason to buy one over a std JCW?
I love mine to bits it is proper quick - 201bhp/ton - and it really handles.
Everyone slates runflats and most haven't even been in a car with them on!! THey are no different to another tyre, ie different makes perform differently!!! For a start the side walls are stiff as fook and thats normally considered a good thing for handeling!
Yes mine is on runflats... I might get a set of trackday wheels and tyres but only so I can run semi-slicks! No way would I not have runflats on the road - why would you want to stop and change a wheel?!?!?!?!?!?!
