went out and bought a mark 5 escort yesterday and the front passenger elec window wont open or close and something rattles when you slam door shut.any ideas
also the central locking will only lock all doors apart from drivers door and they will only lock from inside the car(not with key).likewise the drivers door will not unlock all doors only drivers door.passenger door wont unlock central locking.any ideas what it could be.thanks

 

does escort lx 1.4 mreg have immobiliser as it got alarm but dunno bout immobiliser.

 

Take the door panel off and look inside, the switch may have broken, there may be a loose connection, the regulator may be broken or even missing. I've jammed windows up with lumps of wood before You won't know without looking.

Sound like your drivers side central locking solenoid is gone [possibly passenger side too]. Easy to remove and the part in a scrappy shouldn't cost more than Ł5.

 

Should have a chip in the key? should be a little red insert on each key?
