Cardiff has a massive dental hospital and will do it for free. They do 2 sessions a day, you have to be there at either 8am or 1pm weekdays. You goto get a ticket and wait your turn, upto 8hrs some days.

You dont need to be registered so you could be 'visting' the area when it the pain became really bad Its only 2 hrs or so down the m4 from reading .

I had a infected wisdom tooth taken out before xmas, FOC, just had to wait 6 hrs.

No matter who you see, they wont take the tooth out, i can sympathise with you as im in some quite bad pain at the moment, i have 400 mg Ibuprofen and 500 mg Amoxicillin tablets at the moment and they do calm it down but i know that my body will get used to them soon but i have an appointment with a new dentist Monday so all will be sorted, nothing like tooth pain as it effects your ears and head too

no dentist or hospital will pull your tooth out

as theres an infection under the tooth, if you pull that tooth out the infection can be fatal, as its poisoning you and wwlill go down your throat

ring your dentist and get an appointment straight away

they will give you some antibitoics and you will have to take these until teh infection is gone

once teh infections goe they will be able to remove it

obviously as you have to have general anesthitic (spelling) you will get referred to a hospital

which as mentioned could be upto a month

but with teh medication your on, the infection will go down and so will teh pain

i had teh same problem a few months ago with my wisdom tooth coming through, after i took teh medication all teh effects of teh infection went away

but i still need to go down and have it removed

Thanks to everyone that has replied. She feels a lot more confident in what to do now. Ricky gave us a number of a dentist, and they said they can take it out with gas and air tonight for £150. Seems like its gunna be the only way.......

Have you considered Hypnotherapy ?

My mum is a hypnotherapist and would be more than happy to put you in touch with someone who might be able to help or recommend someone local to you.

Hope thats some help mate

I had some work done at the dentist Ricky gave me the number for, they were really good, they cleaned it out (which really hurt ), and have put a temporary seal on the tooth. I was going to have it out with gas and air, but the dentist wasnt happy doing this bcs of my ellergic reaction, he spoke to the hopstial and sent me there, and they gave me an emergcy appointment with the clinic.

I havent had much pain since i went to that dentist.

And now............. i have my pre med thingy on 22nd February, and my operation for both teeth to get removed on the 5th of March, so not long to wait they said at the hospital it could be 4 months at least. So March is a result.

my mrs has the same problem
but because she's holding the "i've had a baby in the past 12 months" card she won't have to pay for the treatment to get one of her wisdom teeth out

but the dentist told her she had to take the pills to get rid of the infectionf irst before he would refer her to the hospital to get it remoevd

she'll be a bit hungry for a few days sometime soon

glad to hear you are getting it fixed sooner

Glad you got it sorted.

Toothache is bloody horrible.

The conversation I had with the mum about it was a totally different way of looking at it.

Hypnotherapy is a weird thing
