Did 193 on datron in the wet at Woodbridge totally stupid & scared me to death, Mark rekons its the most scared he has been in a car, with a senile pensioner about to press the brake pedal & knowing he aint got a clue what to do if it goes wrong . Mark managed a 206 with wheels still spinning past 185mph, this type of lunacy has now been banned .

Don't comment on what you don't understand. I have driven and been involved with numerous track and rally cars in the 70/80s. It was an ex Earnhartdt car which had been modified and was doing straight line runs on the salt flats. The cars back then were well able to reach 200mph being much lighter than todays with all their extra weight.

But he said that guy has never driven a thunderbird, which is a ford, hes always raced for chevvy, so id hold back on the for now.

Why would a NASCAR and esp a salt flats racer have a passenger seat anyhow?

My car hasent & never will reach 216mph its beyond our reach even with circa 1000bhp. The car has seen 210.2mph with Mark driving un-officially.
Its to do with metres/sec. If it took say 10secs to do 200 to 216 that would be around 1000m in distance meaning around 205 at the mile, it aint going to happen. 212/213 is our ultimate aim & even this will be very difficult. Only know one street car past 215 in 1.5miles & thats Joels Viper.

Rod or anyone else should be able to answer this.....

With people quoting "GPS" figures, how accurate do you think run of the mill GPS is compared to say proper Datron figures etc?
