SiB's Engine RE Rebuild! PIX and UPDATE PAGE 2
As some of you know I broke my engine a couple of months ago
Well here's the pics of the affected part, it's been lightened and ventilated!
It's taken me 2 months or so to decide whether to go through all the hassle I had this time last year (some of you may remember my NURBURGRING countdown post last year!)
Well, seeing as the Ring is coming up again I've decided it's got to be done!!!!
So armed with my shopping list the RErebuild starts again
Oh, and this is going on to replace my weedy T38!!
What this space for updates!

BHP goal - anything over 450 would be adequate!! I've had a T3, T34.55, T34.63, a T38, so this seemed like a good plan.
Dave is correct - it's a T4. Old school, but who cares. GT30 plans are still on hold as realistically no time / money to do it before the Ring.
Big thanks to Escos Nige for the cracking deal, and to Doug Stirling for delivering it to me tonight
Also big thanks to my bro Sketch for stripping my engine earlier so I could get the photos and work out what to order.
My shopping list is as follows:
1 Cosworth 7.2:1 piston 4x4
Full set of piston rings
Big end bearings
Main bearings
Thrust bearings
4x4 Oil pump (High pressure one)
Cam belt
Cometic headgasket
Head bolts - large washer type
Valve stem seals
4wd bottom end gasket set
All Ł800 worth!
I've no idea what killed my car (apart from me!) but the injectors were tested and are 100% A OK. Big thanks to Phil (IMA / Boschman) for checking them

This was the damage the little Deer did to my car at last Easter's Nurburgring trip.
This is a shot of the bore :
Got to get this bore linered - anyone know how much it costs to get this done? I've been quoted Ł130 - not sure if this is the right sorta money?

Good to see I'm not the only one planning to run big power on a linered block.
3+4 have had liners fitted in mine and it will now be on a T38 so I can only pray it will hold together.
Why the change from the T38 ?
Good to see its all coming together for you now

Only need to line the damaged bore so as to keep it a standard bore to match the rest otherwise youd have to over boar the whole engine to the size needid to clean up the damaged one

It's done around 3000 or so since the last build I'd guess, maybe more, maybe less. Will try and dig some paperwork out that will confirm it.
Hoping a hone and new rings will work ok on the other 3.

If it makes it there, you're on the list for a ride round while it still works!!! So better jump in within the first lap or so....

Not sure if anyone else has any experience on the matter, but I hope to run somewhere around 450 bhp with it... could be an expensive experiment

As it happens, yeah!!! Not sure if you have room, but a spare motor would be cool... I'm bound to brake it again.
How soon do you want a T38 matey? I'm planning on selling it in the next couple of months .... basically going to see how I get on with the bufty tart T4, and if all is ok the T38 will be up for grabs after that.
Nowt wrong with it, I just always had 500bhp as a target with this engine, and the T4 came up at a fair price so I had to have it
With your help (and complete spares package) hopefully this year's Ring trip will be better than last time!
