Default Mounting gauges

Currently i have them in a vent panel in the middle of the dash but i don't really like it.

I'm starting to warm to the idea of having them in a individual gauge pod mounted in the centre of the dash but feel a lot of people will slate that method of mounting them.

anyone got any idea or thought on that?

Matt.

P.S car is ERST

what where the fuel computer / coin tray goes?

I bought a replacement outer bezel or what ever its called which has moulds to take 2 x 52mm gauges. in place of the tray.

Gaz @ race spec does a version of them which takes 1 gauge. They look pretty good imo.

They look like the cheap nasty things they sell in local motor factors, like RGM stuff I have 2 in the a pillar and 3 in the center vent, I know what you mean about loosing the vents, bit annoying but I am used to it now Only other bling way is to do what tony did, but that is alot of hard work!

So noone likes it? Too cheap and nasty looking.

Perhaps a quick email to Lee@fusion see what ideas he has.

Thanks for the feedback

That was "Plan A" for us. We were going to use a Scooby pod and mod it to fit, until we found out that they cost £120... Get it coloured and textured the same as the dash imo to make it look factory.

Like this Tone? I was thinking of getting it to see if I could mod it to fit where the centre speaker goes in my S1

Thanks, but I don't think you can comment on the gauges until you have seen them for yourself mate, you would be the only one who doesn't like them I also have a 4th Defi in a custom made A Pillar pod.

Damo modified the dash, and then I got the main part flocked, I just wanted to be different.

Yeah, something like that, but the proper Defi one has little hoods that go over the gauges and is more rounded than that. But it would be a good starting point, if you know what you are doing.

I have seen Defi's Tony, several times. I like em lit up, jsut not unlit. I dunno what it is, maybe it's cos they look a bit "bug eyed"....

The actual display and everthing else is well cool tho

Even so, I htink I can comment on pretty much anything seeing as it is MY opinion And even if I am the ONLY person in the whole wide world who don't like emm, so what? Don't really matter does it? So long as you like em then what's it matter if I don't? I take it your bought them cos YOU liked em not to impress anyone else?

Not sure that would suit a S1 to owell due to the wavy curves.... Prob look better in a S2 since the dash ain't all 90deg angles

If that ebay one I posted hadn't gone so high I would have had it and seen what could be done, but ain't spending £30-£35 to find it don't fit

I doubt it will be a straight fit.

Anyway, having gauges in the centre of the dash, right on the top is a crap place for them lol

pmsl @ Dave

Tone - yeah didn't think that it would jsut fit as the Buru dash is very different t othe S1 dash top, but thought it might be possible to modify it to fit, but don't wanna sped that sorta money to find out no matter how much I mod, it still won't fit or jsut looks shite......
